Christina D. Mitakis

Christina D. Mitakis is an experienced legal professional currently serving as Deputy General Counsel at the Appraisal Institute since June 2011, with prior roles as Associate General Counsel and Associate Counsel within the same organization. Christina's earlier experience includes a position as an Instructor of Law at The American University of Athens, teaching British law to undergraduate students from September 2009 to February 2010. Previous to this, Christina practiced as a Litigation Associate Attorney at Kirkland & Ellis from October 2004 to August 2008, specializing in general commercial litigation, where responsibilities included oral arguments, legal research, and case management. Christina began their career as an Insurance Underwriter at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company, underwriting commercial insurance coverage from December 1998 to July 2001. Christina earned a Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Northwestern University.
