Kris Verdeyen

Kris Verdeyen is a highly experienced electrical engineer currently serving as Staff Electrical Engineer for Next Gen Systems at Apptronik since September 2024. Prior to this role, Kris held several positions at Nauticus Robotics, Inc., including Senior Electrical Engineer and Principal Electrical Engineer, from October 2018 to September 2024. Kris gained significant expertise at NASA, working from June 2000 to November 2018 as Rover Element Power Lead for the Resource Prospector Mission, where responsibility included overseeing solar, battery, and power distribution systems. Additional roles at NASA encompassed Project Manager and Lead Electrical Engineer for the Valkyrie/R5 project. Kris also contributed as a mentor for FIRST Robotics from 2000 to 2018. Kris holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, earned in 2000.
