TJ Monroe is an experienced advocate for individuals with disabilities, currently serving as a Board Member at APSE since 2005, focused on creating pathways for students transitioning to supported employment. As a consultant for the Self Advocacy Movement since 1991, TJ provides guidance on human rights and self-advocacy, offering training and public speaking on various topics including inclusive education and independent living. Previous professional roles include production supervisor, assistant carpenter, and veterinary assistant, showcasing a diverse skill set. Notably, TJ was the first member with a developmental disability appointed to the President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities, advocating for a change in terminology.
