Emma Eckel

Emma Eckel is an experienced Environmental, Health and Safety Engineer at 3M since July 2021. Prior to this role, Emma served as an Undergraduate Student Researcher at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, focusing on the economic and environmental feasibility of incorporating plastics into rural roads across multiple states. Previous internship experiences include positions at Black Hills Energy as both an Operation and Maintenance Engineering Intern and Environmental Engineering Intern, as well as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Therma-stor, and Summer Factory Help at A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co. Emma holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management with a minor in Occupational Safety from the South Dakota School of Mines, completed in 2021, and graduated from McFarland High School in 2017.
