Kathy Hoffman

Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Kathy Hoffman is an educator who has extensive experience teaching in Arizona schools. Providing speech therapy services and teaching communication skills to children, she has taught students in public schools from Tucson to Glendale. Superintendent Hoffman serves as a member of the board's Academic Affairs and Educational Attainment Committee.

As an advocate for students with disabilities, she has coordinated events to educate the public on autism for the Autism Society of Southern Arizona, served as a staff trainer for United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Arizona, tutored college students with disabilities, and led activities for preschool children with communication disorders. She is a contributor to local media on subjects ranging from bilingual programs to the need for qualified special education teachers.
