Matt MacFarland

Part-time Instructor at Art Center College of Design

Matt MacFarland is an experienced arts educator and part-time instructor with a focus on graphic novels and contemporary art. Since September 2017, MacFarland has taught The Graphic Novel course at ArtCenter College of Design. In addition to this role, MacFarland has been an Arts Educator at PS Arts since August 2011, providing arts education to underserved public schools in Los Angeles. MacFarland's extensive teaching background includes positions at the Armory Center for the Arts, Hauser & Wirth, Citrus College, and the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts, where various art forms were taught. Prior experience as an educator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, involved guiding students through contemporary exhibitions, focusing on personal engagement with art. MacFarland holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from Otis College of Art and Design, earned between 2001 and 2003.
