Stephen Scibelli M.D. Faans

Stephen Scibelli MD FAANS is a neurosurgeon currently affiliated with Ascension since April 2023. With extensive experience, Stephen serves as the Chairperson of the Political Action Committee and Vice Chairman of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) since May 2020. Additionally, Stephen is a Founding Board Member of the Spine Research Advisory Board at HCA Healthcare, contributing to advancements in spinal care. Stephen has held various roles within HCA since March 2011, including Neuroscience Committee Member, and has served as Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at Memorial Hospital - Jacksonville until September 2022. Stephen trained as a Neurosurgery and Orthopaedic Spine Fellow at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (2009-2010) and completed a residency in neurological surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Health (2003-2009). Academic credentials include an MD from the Medical University of South Carolina and a BS in Biochemistry from Bates College.
