Brenton Franklin

Brenton Franklin, MD, MHPE, FACS, serves as a member of the Board of Trustees and Chief Medical Advisor at Ashford Hospital since July 2023, and as a Senior Advisor at AVATAR MEDICAL from October 2023. Currently, Brenton Franklin is an Associate Professor of Surgery and Associate Professor of Health Professions Education at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and previously held the roles of Surgical Director and Fellowship Director at the National Capital Region Simulation Consortium until July 2023. Between May 2019 and July 2023, Brenton Franklin was the Associate Program Director for the General Surgery Residency and held various leadership positions at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Brenton Franklin's military service includes roles as a General Surgeon and General Surgery Resident in the US Army from July 2012 to July 2023. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medicine from Georgetown University School of Medicine, a Master of Health Professions Education from the Uniformed Services University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross.
