Naomi Tacuyan Underwood

Naomi Tacuyan Underwood currently serves as the Executive Director of the Asian American Journalists Association since January 2019. Prior experience includes roles such as Deputy Campaign Manager at Advancing Justice - AAJC and AAPI Outreach Director at the Democratic National Committee. Naomi has also held positions as Deputy Director for Asian Pacific Islander American Vote and Policy Center Fellow at the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement. Earlier in their career, Naomi worked as a Communications Director at the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy and was involved in the Underwood-Aguon Campaign as Press Secretary and Fundraising Coordinator. Additional experience includes board membership at the National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum and program coordination at the National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development. Naomi holds a Master of Public Policy from UCLA and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Asian/Pacific American Studies from New York University.
