Akbar H. Khan

Akbar H. Khan, PhD, is an accomplished professional in the field of medicinal chemistry with significant experience in oncology and bioactive natural product synthesis. Currently serving as Associate Director at AstraZeneca since February 2022, Akbar has previously held roles such as Senior Scientist at Wave Life Sciences and Senior Scientist at Organix Inc. Notable contributions include the synthesis of new molecular entities and optimization of scale-up reactions. Akbar's academic background includes a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Iowa State University and a Master's Degree in Chemistry from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
