Glyn Hughes

Glyn Hughes is a Senior Research Scientist at AstraZeneca, with a career spanning several prestigious organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. Since joining AstraZeneca in September 2014, Glyn has been responsible for the independent design and synthesis of new chemical entities to test medicinal chemistry hypotheses across various respiratory disease projects, while also supporting drug discovery through advancements in flow chemistry and parallel synthesis techniques. Prior to this role, Glyn spent over 17 years at Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research, where experience included serving as a Scientific Technical Leader and Investigator, focused on synthesizing advanced intermediates and supporting drug discovery initiatives. Glyn began the professional journey at the Sandoz Institute for Medical Research and holds a Ph.D. in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from UCL, along with a BSc in Biology and Chemistry from King's College London.
