Luis Rodriguez-Borlado

Luis Rodriguez-Borlado is an experienced executive in the field of cell therapy and regenerative medicine. Currently serving as Executive Director of Cell Therapy Process Development at AstraZeneca since September 2023, Luis previously held the position of Head of Cell Therapy Product Development Research at Takeda from January 2020 to July 2023, where responsibilities included advancing cell therapy products for gastrointestinal indications. As Vice President of Regenerative Therapies at Capricor Therapeutics from August 2015 to January 2020, Luis led research on cardiac stem cell efficacy and managed GMP manufacturing processes. Earlier roles included Scientific Director at Coretherapix S.L., Principal Scientist at CNIO, and Postdoctoral Researcher at NKI-AVL. Luis holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a BS in Biology, both from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
