Rebecca Holmberg

Rebecca Holmberg, PhD, PMP, currently serves as the Director of Global Portfolio & Project Management at AstraZeneca, a position held since October 2020, after progressing from Associate Director in the same field. Prior to AstraZeneca, Rebecca held significant roles at Akonni Biosystems, including Director of Biology, Assay Development, where leadership in product development for respiratory pathogen diagnostics and management of multidisciplinary teams were key responsibilities. Previous experience includes positions as Senior Scientist at CUBRC and Ionian Technologies, focusing on project management and molecular diagnostics development respectively. Rebecca's academic qualifications include a PhD in Inorganic Chemistry with a bio emphasis from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a BS in Chemistry from the University of Virginia, and ongoing education in Drug and Medical Device Development at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
