Sophie Pearce

Sophie Pearce is a dedicated researcher and PhD student specializing in the development of novel treatments for refractory and relapsed osteosarcoma, with a focus on Mass Spectrometry Imaging in advanced pre-clinical models. Currently a Visiting PhD Student at AstraZeneca, Sophie also collaborates at the Biomolecular Sciences Research Centre while contributing to research aimed at improving student experiences in higher education. Prior experience includes an industrial placement at GSK in drug discovery and a variety of volunteering roles, including leading donor recruitment drives for Anthony Nolan and assisting in COVID-19 contact tracing with Public Health England. Sophie's academic background includes a Biochemistry degree from Sheffield Hallam University, complemented by extensive involvement in mentorship and outreach activities in the scientific community.
