Tyson Thorne

Tyson Thorne is an experienced professional in the oil and gas industry, currently serving as the Manager of Thermal Production at Athabasca Oil Corporation since February 2017, overseeing thermal assets that comprise 85% of the company's production and directing subsurface engineering and geoscience work. Previously, Tyson held the role of Manager of Leismer Production, managing production volumes and capital expenditures, and served as a Senior Reservoir Engineer, developing reservoir management plans for the Hangingstone and Leismer assets. Prior experience includes a position as Senior Reservoir Engineer at Statoil, where Tyson contributed to the field development plans for the Bay du Nord discovery, as well as a role supporting heavy oil assets in Venezuela and Canada. Tyson began career as a Reservoir Engineer at Suncor, focusing on well surveillance and optimization for thermal producing assets. Educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alberta and a Master's Degree in Petroleum Engineering from Heriot-Watt University.
