Markus Garlauskas

Markus Garlauskas currently serves as Director and Nonresident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council since August 2020 and has held an adjunct professor position at Georgetown University since October 2020, following a brief tenure at Columbia University in early 2022. Previously, Markus was the National Intelligence Officer for North Korea at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence from July 2014 to June 2020. Markus also contributed to the Combined Forces Command for over a decade in various roles, including Director of Strategy and Chief of Intelligence Estimates. Markus holds a Master's degree in Security Studies from Georgetown University and a Bachelor's degree in History from Kent State University.
