Joseph Thompson

Joseph Thompson is a seasoned software engineer with a robust background in developing machine learning platforms and building complex systems. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Aurora since August 2024, previous experience includes roles as a Senior Software Engineer at Radar and Google, where significant contributions involved creating a machine learning platform for Ads policy classifiers and redesigning Duolingo's daily activity tracker. Earlier positions also include leading the development of a product review ingestion pipeline at Google and conducting research on iris recognition algorithms at the University of Notre Dame. Joseph holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Notre Dame, along with multiple degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science, and a MicroMasters in Finance from MITx.
