Varun Ramakrishna

Varun Ramakrishna is an accomplished professional in the fields of perception, computer vision, and machine learning, currently serving as Director and Tech Lead Manager in Perception at Aurora since January 2017. Prior experience includes work at Uber in Perception & Machine Learning R&D from September 2015 to December 2016, and a comprehensive academic background with a Ph.D. in Robotics from Carnegie Mellon University, where specialization focused on Computer Vision and Machine Learning. Notable internships include positions at Microsoft Research, Disney Research, Intel Research Pittsburgh, and Qualcomm, alongside work as a Student Research Assistant at the Robotics Institute. Varun holds multiple degrees from Carnegie Mellon University, including a Master of Science in Robotics and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, as well as a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
