Blake Turner

Blake Turner is an experienced music professional and development director currently serving as the Director of Development for the College of Fine Arts at The University of Texas at Austin since November 2021, after previously holding the position of Associate Director of Development within the same college. Blake has a longstanding affiliation with the Austin Symphony Orchestra, performing as Assistant Principal Viola and as a Section Viola since August 2014. Prior experience includes roles as Development Associate for the College of Liberal Arts at The University of Texas at Austin, Applied Instructor of Viola at Southwestern University, and Development Associate for Major Gifts at The University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, Blake has performed as a violist with various orchestras and ensembles, including the Houston Symphony and the New World Symphony, and has taught violin and viola at the Bulverde Music Academy. Blake holds a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from Rice University and a Master's degree in Chamber Music from The University of Texas at Austin.
