Andy Peatling

Andy Peatling is an experienced AI Team Engineer at Automattic, where involvement includes incorporating open-source AI technology into WordPress since March 2008. Peatling has held multiple leadership roles, including Engineering Lead for the open-source WordPress.org project, enhancing design tools for the Gutenberg block editor and improving the editing experience on WordPress.com. Additionally, leadership on the Calypso UI project and work with paid plans exemplify Peatling's significant contributions to WordPress.com. Prior to Automattic, Peatling founded BuddyPress, a popular social networking extension for WordPress, and has held software engineering positions at various companies, including Blaze New Media and Etraffic Solutions. Educational background includes a BSc in Computer Science from Brunel University London.
