Tom Smiers

Tom Smiers has extensive experience in financial regulation and integrity oversight, currently serving as a Manager at the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets since January 2007. As of May 15, 2023, Tom leads the team responsible for Integrity Supervision of License Holders within the Market Integrity and Enforcement department, focusing on combating unethical and criminal behavior among financial service providers. Prior to this role, Tom worked as a Supervision Officer at ING Retail from January 1998 to December 2006 and has a legal background as a (Para)legal. Tom's educational credentials include studies at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) and HWC in Amstelveen.
