Dilhara Jayarathna

Dilhara Jayarathna, Ph.D., currently serves as Group Leader in Oligonucleotide Process Development at Nitto Avecia, a position held since July 2018, after progressing through roles as Oligonucleotide Process Development Scientist and Associate Scientist. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Associate role at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University from January to June 2018, and a Graduate Teaching Assistant/PhD Candidate in the Department of Chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University from August 2012 to December 2017, where research focused on developing Peptides and Peptide Nucleic Acids for nanotechnology applications. Earlier academic contributions include serving as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Peradeniya following the attainment of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology in 2011. Dilhara holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Carnegie Mellon University, awarded in 2017, and completed secondary education at Mahamaya Girls' College in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
