Thomas Atkinson

Thomas Atkinson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in security and public safety across various organizations. Currently serving as the Director of Global Facilities and Physical Security at Avid since November 2019, Thomas oversees global facility operations and leads emergency response initiatives. Previous roles include Associate Director of Public Safety - Deputy Chief of Police at Boston College, where leadership and community policing programs were developed, and Director of Public Safety at Tufts Medical Center, focusing on department restructuring and workplace violence policies. Thomas's career includes significant positions such as Director of Security at Polaroid Corporation, Special Agent with the U.S. Secret Service, and Special Agent for the Coast Guard Investigative Service, complemented by early experience as a Police Officer in Hull, Massachusetts. Thomas holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Northeastern University and a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Saint Anselm College.
