Gus Gutoski is a cryptographer who currently works at Axelar. Gus has previously worked as a security researcher for ISARA Corporation, a decentralization engineer for ConsenSys, and a cryptographer for Mirror (Mirror Labs). Gus also has experience as a software developer, having worked as a developer for Cimmetry Systems and as an intern for Softimage.
Gus Gutoski obtained their PhD in mathematics from the University of Waterloo in 2010. Gus's research focuses on cryptography, particularly on post-quantum cryptography and zero-knowledge proofs. Gus is one of the founding developers of gnark, a toolkit for developing zero-knowledge proofs.
Gus Gutoski completed a Bachelor of Mathematics (BMath) at the University of Waterloo, double majoring in Computer Science and Combinatorics and Optimization. Gus then completed a Master of Science (MSc) in Computer Science at the University of Calgary. Finally, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science at the University of Waterloo.
