Derek L. Benson

Derek L. Benson, MBA, serves as the Chief Communication Officer and Director of Retirement & Financial Education at the Indiana Public Retirement System, where responsibilities include strategic leadership and development of retirement programs and fostering employer relationships. With extensive experience in outreach and education management, leadership in pension administration, and retirement counseling, Derek has cultivated a comprehensive expertise in financial education. In addition to public service, Derek co-owns Derek & Brittany Designs, LLC, an online business specializing in personalized products, and holds volunteer leadership roles on the Board of Directors for At Your School. Derek previously served as an Independent Representative at Primerica and has a background in financial aid and education as an adjunct instructor at Indiana Business College. Educational credentials include an MBA from the Jack Welch Management Institute and degrees in Business Administration from Northwood University and Indiana Business College.
