What do we do?

Azure Summit Technology provides a wide range of multi-channel software defined radio solutions for applications including surveillance, emitter location, and interference cancellation. Systems can be tailored to meet a variety of requirements for bandwidth, dynamic range, number of channels, and computational resources. What will you do?

Azure Summit Technology is currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic, growing, cross-functional, and geographically distributed team.  This position is located on-site at our facility in Melbourne, Florida, with overnight travel to our office in Fairfax, Virginia, and to vendor and customer sites as needed.  Your future team has worked together to produce the following job description:

The selected candidate will be responsible for design, development, modification, production, test, debugging, and evaluation of complex RF and digital circuit boards and assemblies. Candidate must have strong general knowledge of electrical/electronics engineering fundamentals as well as have actual experience designing and developing complex mixed signal electrical PCB assemblies and bringing them to production.  Candidate must also be familiar with design for test and design for manufacturability.  Candidate will be instrumental in the testing and debugging of products during development, pre-delivery integration and acceptance.  Duties will include technical responsibility for planning and conducting technical projects or phases of projects and may coordinate the efforts of electronics technicians as required.  Candidate will also consolidate results of hardware design elements and conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component, or process specifications and requirements. Candidate will be involved in the evaluation of vendors, products, and services and will work closely with Azure team members, vendors, and subcontractors during the design, fabrication, and assembly phases of projects.  Candidate will support both production and R&D engineering efforts. 

Basic Requirements

  • US citizenship, due to nature of the work and contract requirement
  • Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance due to contract requirement
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in design, testing, and validation of printed circuit boards
  • Minimum 3 years' experience using a signal generator, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, and oscilloscope to debug analog, digital, and RF circuits

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

  • Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

  • Expertise in schematic capture and layout guidance with Cadence Allegro tool set
