Alex Mercier

Alex Mercier has a diverse work experience in the software development field. In 2019, they joined Back Market as a Senior Frontend Developer, where they focused on developing and maintaining various frontend aspects of the website, such as the checkout funnel, payment methods advertising, and shipping pages. Alex also worked on cross-team projects, including a web Design System and security enhancements. Alex utilized technologies like VueJS and Nuxt during their time at Back Market.

In addition to their work at Back Market, Alex contributed to open source projects as an Open Source Developer during their free time. Alex also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Nefeli Networks, Inc. in 2020, where they were responsible for porting the frontend part of a Networking utility to a production-ready level using React, TypeScript, Next.js, Jest, and ESLint.

Prior to these experiences, Alex worked at LinkedIn as a Senior Software Engineer, where they contributed to the development of the new Publishing Platform and SlideShare product. Alex also worked as a Full Stack Engineer in freelance projects, developing websites for Icon's Fall band and OECO Architectes. Earlier in their career, Alex worked as a Software Engineer at ALTEN, where they designed and developed Javascript web applications for cloud capabilities.

Lastly, Alex has experience as a Front-End Software Engineer at Micro-SOC Limited and Jumper Consulting Investment Ltd, where they worked on managing and configuring routers and provided security consultancy services.

Alex Mercier completed a Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction from ENAC - Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile in 2006-2007. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2007, they earned another Master's degree in Computer Science from Université Paul Sabatier Toulouse III. Their educational journey began with a DUT in Informatique from IUT de Rodez from 2002 to 2004.
