Joe Armstrong

Joe Armstrong has extensive experience in site and project management within the mining and manufacturing sectors. Currently serving as Site Services Manager and previously as Shiploader Superintendent at Baffinland since July 2021, Armstrong has held key leadership roles at Nyrstar, including Mill & Surface Manager and Interim General Manager from November 2017 to June 2020. Prior to that, Armstrong was Project Manager for Smelter & Refinery Closure Planning & Execution at Vale Manitoba Operations from September 2016 to October 2017. With a long tenure at Vale from July 2008 to October 2017, Armstrong progressed through various positions including Project Manager, Mill Manager, and Superintendent of Smelter Projects. Armstrong's career began at McKenzie Forest Products as Plant Superintendent from April 2004 to July 2008.
