Matthew Weaver

Matthew Weaver, CAPM, is an experienced environmental professional with a strong background in environmental management and compliance. Currently serving as an Environmental Coordinator at Baffinland since August 2021, Matthew is responsible for planning environmental sampling programs, supervising contractors and technicians, and ensuring compliance with government regulations. Prior to this role, Matthew worked at Rio Tinto for nearly five years, where positions included Project Coordinator - Environment and Environmental Advisor, focusing on air quality, hazardous waste management, and operational compliance. Earlier career experience includes serving as an Environmental Scientist at Pinchin LeBlanc Environmental Ltd. and as an Environmental Technician at Maritime-Ontario Environmental Inc., where Matthew conducted environmental assessments and monitoring. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Acadia University, earned in 2008.
