Iain Lindsay Ob Obe

Iain Lindsay OB OBE is an experienced diplomat and advisor, currently serving as an Advisor at the Bahrain Economic Development Board since January 2021. Previously, Iain held the position of British Ambassador to Hungary from March 2016 to September 2020 and served as British Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain from August 2011 to July 2015. Additional roles include Deputy Head of Mission at the British Consulate General in Hong Kong and the British Embassy in Bucharest, along with a stint as a full-time Hungarian language student. Iain's career began in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, leading to significant positions including Deputy Head of the South Asia Department and First Secretary Political at the British Embassy in Tokyo. Education was pursued at John Lyon School, Edinburgh Academy, and Glasgow University.
