Sydney Pyon is currently a Research and Development Intern at Cirqle Biomedical, focusing on advancing contraception through mucus engineering and assessing the biocompatibility of non-hormonal drug formulations with the human vaginal microbiome. Previously, Sydney served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the MIT Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research, where lipid nanoparticles and microneedle patches were synthesized for mRNA vaccine delivery and various laboratory techniques were utilized. Sydney also held the position of Vice President for the HOSA-Future Health Professionals Annenberg Science Symposium Team, leading research on the impacts of artificial sweeteners on gut bacteria and investigating virtual learning stimuli on students. Sydney is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Biological Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, expected to graduate in 2025, following education at Garnet Valley High School.
