Zahie El Kouri helps creatives, professionals, and entrepreneurs design lives that combine artistic callings with financial security and intellectual fulfillment. She is writing a novel about a Middle Eastern family that starts passing as American after 9/11. After earning an undergraduate degree from Williams College and a J.D. from Cornell Law School, Zahie practiced law for several years before enrolling at The New School and earning an M.F.A. in fiction writing. She then taught expository, creative, academic, and persuasive writing in universities and law schools while publishing short fiction and essays and parenting small children. She moved to Austin, Texas in 2012 for the quality and diversity of the vibrant writing and arts communities. She is passionate about supporting artists and creating equity and diversity in our beautiful and soulful city.
