John Hillegass

John Hillegass is an experienced transportation planner currently serving at the Baltimore City Department of Transportation since September 2024. Prior to this role, John held various positions at the Greater Washington Partnership from May 2019 to May 2024, including Director and Manager of Regional Mobility & Infrastructure, as well as Associate in Transportation Policy and Mobility Intern. John’s experience also includes serving as Constituent Services Coordinator for the DC City Council in Ward One, where community engagement and problem-solving were key responsibilities. Additionally, John has a background in member relations at The Common Application, legislative work as a Congressional Intern, and volunteer roles in educational and conservation initiatives. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in City/Urban, Community, and Regional Planning from Georgetown University and a Bachelor's degree in International/Global Studies from Boston College, alongside study abroad experiences in Argentina and Brazil.
