Ian Roche

Ian Roche is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in the financial services sector. Currently serving as Technology Leader at Balyasny Asset Management L.P. since November 2023, Roche previously held the position of Managing Director and Head of FICC Trading Technology at Barclays Corporate & Investment Bank from June 2022 to November 2023. Prior to that, Roche was at AQR Capital Management as Principal and Co Chief Technology Officer, as well as Managing Director for Portfolio Construction, Data, and Risk Technology from September 2016 to April 2022. Roche's career at UBS spanned two decades, during which various roles included Managing Director with responsibilities in execution, risk management, and technology across multiple asset classes. Roche began the professional journey as a C++ Developer at BAe SEMA after graduating with a Master of Engineering in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Loughborough University.
