Andrei Pustelnikov

Andrei Pustelnikov is an accomplished professional currently serving as an Advisor at the Bank for International Settlements since September 2023. Prior to this role, Pustelnikov has held multiple positions at the Bank of England since August 2016, including Policy Manager for Cross-Border Payments, where the focus was on improving international payment systems, and Policy Advisor for Financial Stability, analyzing the effects of digital currencies and corporate finance levels on financial stability. Pustelnikov also contributed to the design of the new RTGS system as Policy Manager for Payments. Earlier experience includes various economist roles at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and a research internship at Volunteer Uganda Ltd. Pustelnikov holds a Master's degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Birkbeck, University of London, and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Birmingham, along with a brief course at Warwick Business School.
