Stan Lybarger was president and chief executive officer of BOK Financial, a top 25 US-based bank, from the time it was established in 1990 through his retirement in 2013. In total, Lybarger had a 40-year career with the organization. He began as a management trainee and worked his way up to the top job. In his time at BOK Financial, Lybarger grew it from a one-state bank with $1.7 billion in assets and 900 employees, to a multi-state full service financial services corporation with $27 billion in assets and more than 4,500 employees.
Lybarger successfully navigated BOK Financial through the 2008 recession, the worst economic situation the country had ever seen. Under his leadership, the corporation was the largest commercial bank in the country to decline TARP funds during that time.
