Banpu Public Company Limited is a Thailand-based company engaged in coal mining and power businesses. The Company's business operations are divided into two segments: coal and power. The Company and its subsidiaries operate coal and coal-related businesses ranging from investment, exploration and development to production of both thermal and coking coals in Thailand and overseas, which are mainly in Indonesia, the People's Republic of China, Australia and Mongolia. The core activities lie in open-pit and underground coal mining operations, as well as coal-fired power generations. The Company also operates the private power plant development projects in Thailand, such as the Hongsa power plant project in Laos.
