Steve Deranek

Steve Deranek is currently a Board Member at Bashor Children's Home. Steve has been in this position since June 2009. Prior to that, they were the Director of Community Based Services at Bashor Children's Home from May 2013 until January 2014. In that role, they provided solution-focused therapy to GFIP clients, conducted assessments for Teen Court and GFIP clients, and designed, directed, and provided educational and diversion programs like Anger Management, Parenting, Divorce Adjustment Classes for Adults and Children, Teen Court, “Stoplifting’ Clinic, “StopSkipping” Class, Youth Diversion/Electronic Monitoring for Elkhart County, Guided Family Intervention Program (GFIP). Steve also supervised staff, networked and collaborated with local agencies.

From 2014 until 2016, Steve Deranek worked as a Therapist at Lori L Harrington, MSW, LCSW. Steve provided counseling services on a part-time basis.

Steve Deranek was the Executive Director at MentHealth America of Michiana from 1999 until 2009. Prior to that, they were the Program Coordinator at Child Abuse Prevention Services from 1996 until 1999. Steve started their career at Child Abuse Prevention Services as a Professional Child Interviewer in 1992 and held that position until 1996.

Steve Deranek has a MSW from Western Michigan University, a B.A. from Saint Mary's College, and a Diploma from Marian High School. Steve is also certified as a Youth Care Professional (CYC-P) from the Child & Youth Care Certification Board and as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.
