Joseph Hughes

Joseph Hughes is an experienced environmental management professional currently serving as the Environment and Community Superintendent at Batchfire Resources since October 2023. Previously, Joseph held the position of Environment and Community Manager at Batchfire Resources, where key responsibilities included compliance oversight at Callide Mine operations, management of rehabilitation plans, and community engagement. Joseph's extensive experience spans several prominent roles in the mining and environmental sectors, including Senior Environmental Advisor at Kirkland Lake Gold, Environmental Advisor at Newmarket Gold Inc., and Senior Environmental Scientist at Paradise Phosphate Limited. Joseph holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Otago and a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from the University of Canterbury.
