Simon Maechling

Simon Maechling is an Innovation Manager at Bayer Crop Science since July 2011, where responsibilities include strategically identifying innovation opportunities to enhance the R&D pipeline in areas such as Active Ingredient Discovery and Environmental Safety. Additionally, Simon leads the global external network to position Bayer as a preferred partner and engages in the global open innovation network to capture new technological opportunities. Simon's prior roles at Bayer include Global Project Manager, Project Leader in both Disease and Pest Control Chemistry, and Department Manager of the Chemistry Department, leading teams in complex multidisciplinary projects. Simon's academic background includes a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Reading and a Postgraduate Degree from Technische Universität Berlin.
