Deepti Tanjore

Deepti Tanjore currently serves as the Head of the Process Engineering and Analytics Department at Berkeley Lab and has been in this role since December 2011. In addition, Deepti leads the Advanced Biofuels and Bioproducts Process Development Unit, overseeing a $10M annual budget focused on advancing synthetic biology technologies for startups. Previous positions include Research Scientist in Biological Engineering, where Deepti spearheaded the development of a groundbreaking “Self-Driving Bioreactor” product. Recognized for outstanding contributions, Deepti has received multiple awards, including a nomination for the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers and the LBNL Division Award of Excellence. Educational credentials consist of an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley, a Ph.D. in Biological Engineering from Penn State University, and a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Andhra University.
