Julia Szinai

Julia Szinai, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher in the Climate and Ecosystem Sciences Division at Berkeley Lab, focusing on the development of a framework to evaluate climate impacts on integrated water and electricity systems in California. With experience as a researcher at the Pacific Institute, Julia studied the energy and greenhouse gas footprint of future water supplies and demands amid policy and climate changes. Previous roles include graduate student researcher positions at Berkeley Lab and the Transportation Sustainability Research Center, where Julia assessed the economic impacts of electric vehicle charging on the grid and researched managed charging user acceptance. Julia holds a PhD in Energy and Resources, dual master's degrees in Energy and Resources and Public Policy, and a bachelor's degree in Economics and Spanish, all from the University of California, Berkeley.
