Susannah Tringe

Susannah Tringe is an accomplished scientist with extensive experience in environmental genomics and systems biology. Currently serving as the Director of the Environmental Genomics and Systems Biology Division at Berkeley Lab since September 2019, Susannah Tringe provides strategic leadership to advance the understanding of genotype-phenotype relationships in microbial communities and eukaryotic biosystems. Additionally, as the Microbial Systems Group Lead at the DOE Joint Genome Institute, Susannah Tringe oversees research in sequence-based methods for characterizing microbial communities, focusing on environmental nutrient cycling. With a solid educational foundation, including a PhD in Biophysics from Stanford University, and a diverse background in scientific research roles, Susannah Tringe has contributed significantly to the field through various leadership positions and collaborative efforts in genomic science.
