Paul Christman is a Trustee at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. Paul was previously the Director of Financial Accounting at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort from April 2006 to May 2015.
At Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, Paul Christman directed and developed the management team for accounting, purchasing, IT, and forecasting the financial position of the resort. Paul ensured timely and accurate financial reporting both internal and external, and compliance of business licenses/taxes. Paul established financial policies and procedures while ensuring their compliance, establishing the budget process, cash management and reporting, and providing analytical support to the ownership and operations management. Paul also managed the accounting of the Maples HOA.
During their time at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, Paul Christman piloted the company through their first audit and led them through 3 subsequent audits. Through PA Sales & Use Tax Audit, they improved from a $1M Liability to a $200K Receivable in 3 yrs. Paul also lead the paradigm shift from silos/IBU’s to a cohesive team after a single financial goal. In addition, they reinvented a financial team from a reporting focus to that of process improvement. Paul won the Category 3 Casino License from the PA Gaming Control Board and successfully weathered the economic recession.
Paul Christman received their Bachelor's Degree in Economics/Finance, Business Administration from Spring Hill College. Paul then went on to get their Accounting degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University. After that, they received their Master of Business Administration and Accounting from Loyola University New Orleans. Finally, they got their Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive certification from Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals and their Certified Public Accountant certification from the Georgia State Board of Accountancy.
