Cody Kirbyson

Cody Kirbyson is a Geotechnical Engineer-In-Training currently working at BGC Engineering Inc. since July 2022, specializing in tailings dam design and GISTM compliance. Previously, Cody held positions as a Junior Geotechnical Engineer at BGC Engineering Inc. from June 2019 to August 2021, focusing on tailings dam construction quality assurance through various field and office tasks, including foundation approvals, geomembrane installation, and slope stability analysis. Cody also worked as a Junior Engineering Intern at BGC Engineering Inc. in 2018, contributing to an open pit pre-feasibility study, and gained experience as a Junior Geotechnical Engineering Technician at GeoPacific Consultants Ltd. in 2017, performing construction quality control and laboratory tests. Cody holds a Master of Engineering in Geological Engineering and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geological/Geophysical Engineering, both from The University of British Columbia.
