Kristin Heidenreich

Kristin Heidenreich is an experienced professional in marine sciences with a strong background in algal culture and laboratory management. Currently serving as Assistant Algal Curator at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences since July 2019, Kristin assists in maintaining the culture collection at the National Center for Marine Algae and Microbiota (NCMA) and engages in various special projects. Previously, Kristin held roles as a Research Associate at the University of South Carolina, where responsibilities included maintaining algal cultures and training students, and as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, teaching introductory marine science courses. Kristin's early career includes work as a Laboratory Technician at The University of Southern Mississippi, focusing on sorting zooplankton samples. Kristin holds a Master's degree in Marine Sciences from the University of South Carolina and a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
