Mathilda Strom

Mathilda Strom is an experienced executive with a strong background in operational leadership and commercial strategy across various sectors. Currently serving as the Founding Chief Operating Officer at Bioptimus since November 2024, Mathilda previously held the position of Chief Commercial Officer and founding team member at CarbonPool, where the company is pioneering carbon credit insurance. Prior to that, Mathilda was the Deputy CEO and co-founder of BIMA, a digital health and insurance provider operating in multiple emerging markets. Additional leadership roles include Non Executive Director positions at Tangelo and Azuri Technologies, and a Board Member role at the Microinsurance Network. Mathilda began their career with Value Partners, focusing on complex strategic issues in telecoms and media, following an early role as a Business Analyst at Spectrum Value Partners. Academic qualifications include a BSc in International Management from Alliance Manchester Business School and time at Babson College, complemented by an International Baccalaureate from St Johns International School.
