Tim Calhoon has held the position of Director of the California Community Colleges Technology Center (CCCTC) since 2007 where he assists the facilitation and coordination of California Community Colleges (CCC) System-wide technology projects in coordination with the CCC Chancellor's Office Telecommunications & Technology Unit.
He has been a member of the Board of Directors for CENIC, the Corporation for Education Network Initiatives in California, since 2011. CENIC operates CalREN, the 3800 mile fiber-optic network for research and education in California.
Current and previous projects for the CCC include: Online Education Initiative, Common Assessment Initiative, Education Planning Initiative, CCC System wide Technology Platform, OpenCCC Student Account, System wide Online Admission Application (CCCApply); eTranscript California: and California Virtual Campus.
Prior to his appointment as CCC Technology Center Director, Tim accrued more than 10 years’ experience in managing educational technology organizations for PLATO Learning (Nasdaq:TUTR) and CyberEd, Inc. This work, in conjunction with a talented development team, led to more than 17 educational technology awards and a Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) CODIE nomination. Mr. Calhoon holds a BS in Computer Science from California State University, Chico.
