Rebecca Rettig

Rebecca Rettig is a complex commercial litigator specializing in legal and regulatory matters relating to blockchain and digital assets. Rebecca is a member of Global Digital Finance (“GDF”), a global industry body that has drafted a Code of Conduct for token sales, and, in her capacity with GDF, contributed substantially to the proposed code relating to token offering white papers.

Rebecca litigates and arbitrates matters relating to digital assets and blockchain. In addition, Rebecca has advised Wall Street private equity firms on the legal and regulatory implications relating to potential digital asset- and blockchain-related investments, and has advised clients on the legal and regulatory implications of issuing security and consumer tokens. Rebecca also advises and guides blockchain clients in pre-litigation disputes to resolution to ensure that they avoid protracted and public litigation.

Although the blockchain industry is young and thus, litigation relating to these matters is relatively new, Rebecca has had the unique experience of arbitrating a crypto-related dispute from start to finish. Rebecca leverages that experience to advise her clients in both pre-litigation and litigation stages.

In addition to her blockchain practice, Rebecca handles cases in federal and state court, and has litigated successfully for financial institutions, technology companies, hedge funds, and major airlines.

Rebecca previously worked at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, where she served as lead trial counsel and trial counsel in a number of cases pending in federal and state courts. She advised clients in all aspects of pre-litigation dispute resolution, alternative dispute resolution, and general litigation.
