Marcos Avellan

Marcos Avellan is an accomplished retail executive with extensive experience in general management across multiple prominent companies. Currently serving as General Manager at Bloomingdale's since December 2022, Marcos previously held the same position at JCPenney, overseeing one of the chain's largest volume units with around 250 employees. Prior experience includes roles at Sears Holdings Corporation as General Manager of flagship stores, and as Store Team Leader at Target. Marcos has a strong educational background, holding a Master’s Degree in Latin American Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Government, both from the University of Florida, complemented by high school education in Physics and Mathematics in Ecuador.
